Benjamin K. Perez is a disability insurance specialist and educator. As Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Disability Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) since 2010 and Sales Manager since 2001, he shares his expertise with insurance brokers, career agents, and financial professionals nationwide.
At DRG, Benjamin works closely with individual brokers, providing fundamental product knowledge and sales ideas to advanced case design. He ascertains the most appropriate type of coverage for the broker’s client, from the most appropriate carrier. He will act as a liaison between the broker and the underwriters from major disability insurance providers, and will negotiate, as much as possible, to get the best coverage available to the client approved and issued. Many times, he will speak directly to the client to assist the broker in making the sale and getting the policy placed.
Benjamin also conducts training courses via video conference calls, and in person to larger groups of brokers, career agents, and sales managers across the country.
Before joining DRG, he was a career agent with MassMutual in Chicago and with New England Financial in New York, where his focus was on disability insurance as a keystone product in financial planning. Before going into personal production, he was a marketing director and trainer for a large New England Financial agency in New York City.
Benjamin is on the Field Advisory Board for The Standard and Principal Individual DI Advisory Council. He maintains his producers and securities license in several states and is an active member of the Chicago chapter of NAIFA. He is an impassioned supporter of human rights and the arts. He is also an accomplished musician and an avid fan of the New York Yankees.
