After a comprehensive strategic review of our individual disability income product, Mutual Income Solutions, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue disability income insurance sales in all states effective January 18, 2025. Our review considered many factors including the continued evolution of the disability income insurance marketplace and lower than expected sales year-over-year.
It is important we periodically evaluate our strategic opportunities and ensure alignment with our long-term growth strategy and that’s why decisions like this are never easy. As a Fortune 500 company with consistent A+ ratings, Mutual of Omaha remains committed to protecting our policyholders and investing in strong partnerships with our sales distributions.
Key Information:
- This discontinuation will impact new sales in all states.
- All pending business will continue to be processed as normal, and case status can be found at mutualincomesolutions.com or case monitoring on Sales Professional Access.
- All applications must be received in the home office by January 17, 2025. No exceptions will be made.
- We will continue to administer disability income policies for our existing customers and provide the exceptional customer service they are accustomed to.
The DI Bonus program will be discontinued effective January 1, 2025. As a reminder, all newly-issued policies placed and paid through December 31, 2024, will count towards the monthly bonus program.
